Prosecutors seek death penalty against principal accused of murder
ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) - St. Louis prosecutors on Thursday said they are seeking the death penalty against a principal accused of hiring a hit man to kill his pregnant girlfriend, a teacher. The alleged hit man, Phillip Cutler, is also facing the death penalty.
Cornelius Green is charged with two counts first-degree murder. He allegedly hired a childhood friend, Phillip J. Cutler, of Oklahoma, to kill Jocelyn Peters, 30.
Prosecutors allege the murder was "outrageously vile, horrible or inhuman in that involved torture or depravity of mind."
